General Donald G. “Don” Cook

General Cook retired as a Four Star General after a 36-year career in the U.S. Air Force. His culminating assignment was as the Commander of the Air Education and Training Command where he was responsible for executing an $8+ Billion annual budget and providing for the leadership, welfare and oversight of 90,000 military and civilian personnel. In his career, he commanded a flying training wing and two space wings, the 20th Air Force (the nation’s nuclear Intercontinental Ballistic Missile force), and was Commander of Air Combat Command during September 11, 2001. General Cook also served as the Chief of the Senate Liaison Office and on the staff of the House Armed Services Committee in the US House of Representatives. During his career he flew over 4,000 hours in various trainer, bomber and fighter aircraft. He was twice awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for exceptional leadership.

 

General Cook currently serves as a Director at Crane Corporation, USAA Federal Savings Bank, and Hawker-Beechcraft Aircraft, and is a consultant to Lockheed-Martin. He previously served on the board of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad until its sale to Berkshire Hathaway.

 

General Cook earned his MBA from Southern Illinois University and a BS from Michigan State University.

 

 

Dr. Daryl Ostrander

Dr. Ostrander has 35 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with expertise in semiconductor manufacturing. From 1981 to 2008, Dr. Ostrander was the Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Technology for Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), a global provider of microprocessor solutions for the computing, communications and consumer electronic markets. Since 2008, Dr. Ostrander serves as a Director at ON Semiconductor and RF Micron, a private company.

 

Dr. Ostrander earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Rice University and a Doctorate in Physics from the University of Houston.

 

 

Dr. Hector Ruiz

Dr. Ruiz’ career spans more than 30 years with leading technology firms. He is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bull Ventures and was, most recently, Chairman and CEO of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Prior to AMD, he served as the President of the Semiconductor Products Sector of Motorola, which he joined from Texas Instruments. He serves as a Director of The International Engineering Consortium, a Board Trustee of Rice University, a Trustee of The RAND Corporation, and is a member of the Engineering Advisory Board of the Cockrell College of Engineering at the University of Texas. Previously has been a Director of Spansion and Eastman Kodak as well as Vice Chairman of the Semiconductor Industry Association and a member of the President's Council of Advisors for Science and Technology.

 

Dr. Ruiz earned a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Doctorate in Electronics from Rice University.
