Correlated Magnetics Research Names Stephen Straus as

Vice President, Commercialization and Strategy

Huntsville, Ala., May 12, 2010.  Correlated Magnetics Research, LLC, (CMR) announced today that Stephen Straus has joined CMR as vice president of commercialization and strategy.

As vice president, Mr. Straus will be responsible for the commercialization of CMR innovations, including developing and implementing strategies for licensing CMR technologies, creating CMR subsidiaries based on CMR technologies, developing strategic relationships, securing business and financial partners and coordinating among CMR subsidiaries, licensees, and partners.

According to Mark Roberts, President and COO of CMR, “Stephen brings a highly specialized skill set and a wealth of experience in the creation and maturation of technology startup companies. We are confident he will provide an enormous benefit to Correlated Magnetics Research as we move forward in bringing our programmable magnet technology to market.” Said CEO and Chief Scientist Larry Fullerton, “To go to the next level, it is best to have someone on board like Stephen who has the strategic vision for where CMR’s technology can go. We’re very grateful that Stephen has joined us, and we are looking forward to working with him to grow CMR into a highly-successful licensing enterprise.”

Before joining CMR, Straus successfully started, ran and sold two companies: The Solutions Group in Washington D.C. and Barfly Interactive Networks in Austin, TX. Straus also spent nine years with Austin Ventures, the largest venture capital firm in the Southwest, where he served as general partner.

“It’s rare to come across an innovation as ground breaking as correlated magnetics,” said Straus.  “Larry has harnessed magnetism, much like earlier pioneers harnessed electricity and light. It feels like an invention that should have happened 50 or 100 years ago. It is remarkable technology that is going to have significant impact across a broad range of industries. We have a great team in place, and I look forward to helping bring such a fundamental technology as programmable magnets to market.”

Straus graduated cum laude from Colgate University and received an MBA from Harvard Business School. He serves on the Engineering Advisory Board of the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.

Correlated Magnetics Research was founded in June 2008 to pursue research and development activities in the field of correlated magnetic structures and the licensing of programmable magnet technology. CMR has over 70 issued and pending patents. For more information about CMR, visit www.correlatedmagnetics.com.
